Deandre Jones, of Boston, was found shot in a bullet-riddled pickup truck in the Castle Village Condominiums on Highland Drive, the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office said. Someone heard the gunshots and called 911.
Paramedics rushed Jones to Good Samaritan Medical Center, where he died just before 1 a.m. on Thursday, March 7.
Police say he was visiting a friend who lived in the condominium complex when he was shot.
A medical examiner is expected to perform an autopsy as early as Thursday.
No one has been arrested, but police are still collecting evidence and speaking with witnesses, authorities said.
